CNN Ranked Portland Oregon as #2 of the top 25 places to retire in 2012.  Portland is a great city and one of my favorite places to visit.  For some of us, it’s a little hectic though and we prefer the relaxed pace of Eugene Springfield.

Median house price in Portland was said by CNN to be 272K.  Your house buying dollars will go farther in Eugene Springfield, though; depending on area, median prices are as low as 120K according to the most recent RMLS data available at the time of this posting.
